Support for Old Age Widows: In rural Kenyan communities, old age widows face significant socio-economic challenges. The death of a spouse often leaves these women without any means of financial support, worsening their vulnerability. Traditional gender roles and limited economic opportunities contribute to their plight, making them highly dependent on their families or community for survival.
We believe that caring for widows is a vital expression of our faith. Our support programs for old age widows are designed to provide them with financial assistance, healthcare, and social inclusion, ensuring they live with dignity and hope.
James 1:27 (NIV): "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
Youth Empowerment: Youth unemployment is a significant issue in Kenya and the rest of developing countries, with limited job opportunities available. The community has a young population, but many lack the skills required to compete in the modern job market. There is a growing need for education in Information Technology (IT) and entrepreneurship to equip young people with the skills necessary for self-employment and innovation.
We recognize the potential within every young person and strive to equip them with IT and entrepreneurial skills that will open doors to new opportunities. Our programs are designed to inspire hope and foster self-reliance, in line with God’s plans for a prosperous future for our youths.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV): "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
School Support Program: Orphans and vulnerable children in our communities face numerous challenges, including poverty, lack of access to quality education, and limited support systems. Many of these children are affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, which has left them without parental care and support. Ensuring their access to education is crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty and providing them with a brighter future.
Children are at the heart of God’s kingdom, and CHCI is dedicated to ensuring that orphans and vulnerable children have access to quality education and the support they need to thrive. Our school support program provides educational supplies, scholarships, and mentorship, reflecting Christ’s love for children.
Matthew 19:14 (NIV): Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
